A couple of quick FIREPROOF nuggets as we head into the weekend …

GMA Festivities!

This is what’s known as GMA Music Week in Nashville as most of the Christian music industry comes together for festivities, meetings, and concerts that conclude with tonight’s Dove Awards.

FIREPROOF has been part of the happenings this week, with a large contingent from Sherwood Pictures and Provident Films involved in many of the activities. The group in Nashville has included Kirk Cameron (who plays Capt. Caleb Holt), Erin Bethea (Catherine Holt), executive producer Jim McBride, and co-writer and producer Stephen Kendrick.

From interviews with magazines and radio stations and networks, to hosting a lunch for media members and Christian retailers, to spending time with Provident Label Group’s musicians, it’s been a great opportunity for the FIREPROOF team to build awareness for the film’s fall release.

Last night, the folks from Sherwood and Provident hosted an impromptu screening of a rough cut of the movie for some of the Provident Music artists, including members of Third Day, Leeland, and Warren Barfield.

All in all, FIREPROOF was a celebration of marriage during a week that celebrates the marriage of faith and music.

Score!

Recently, Mark Willard and Alex Kendrick traveled to Nashville to oversee the recording of the score for FIREPROOF. In addition to his role at Sherwood as a Senior Associate Pastor of Music, Mark has led the musical charge on all three films from Sherwood Pictures: FLYWHEEL, FACING THE GIANTS, and now FIREPROOF.

Bill Reeves, who is part of the Provident Films team, visited Mark at the recording studio and fills us in on the happenings.

“It was great to see the recording session live. The Nashville String Machine, which is made up of the premiere studio players in Nashville, was in full force. They are real pros and hearing them perform live was great. The session took place at Reba McEntire’s studio, Starstruck, which is a fantastic facility. And the score was beautiful. Mark and his team did an amazing job.”

Bill even took time to film some of what he experienced so that we could give you a feel for the look, feel, and—most importantly—the sound of the recording of the FIREPROOF score. We hope you enjoy!

Poster Possibilities

The Blog is always on the lookout for great tidbits that provide you with the behind-the-scenes FIREPROOF information that will keep you in the know. (Talk about a fun job description!)

Well, the humble Blog is not normally one to brag, but today we bring you something that is so fresh and exciting, that it hasn’t even been officially released yet! That’s right … we have gotten our hands on an early version of what may very well become the movie poster for FIREPROOF.

Now, we can only show this to you under two conditions:

1. You don’t tell anyone where you saw this.
2. You do tell us what you think of the look and feel of this.

Okay? Good! Here you go ...Remember, this is not final, but we look forward to your feedback.

Looking to friend a movie worth befriending? Well, now you can!

FIREPROOF is on Facebook and you can check it out by typing FIREPROOF on your Facebook search bar. You’ll then find the film’s profile and group—both of which are great ways to let your world know about FIREPROOF.

Speaking of being in the know about FIREPROOF , we are getting closer to having a release date for the movie. While that is still being worked on at levels much higher than where the Blog can be found, we do have this bit of info we can pass along:

FIREPROOF is currently scheduled to open this September in theatres across the country! That will be just shy of two years since the theatrical release of FACING THE GIANTS (whose Facebook group you can also join by searching for it).

Be sure to read the Blog, friend via Facebook, and—by all means—please register to for updates through our website to be the most in-the-know FIREPROOF person you know. Your friends will be sure to thank you!
