Recently, Mark Willard and Alex Kendrick traveled to Nashville to oversee the recording of the score for FIREPROOF. In addition to his role at Sherwood as a Senior Associate Pastor of Music, Mark has led the musical charge on all three films from Sherwood Pictures: FLYWHEEL, FACING THE GIANTS, and now FIREPROOF.
Bill Reeves, who is part of the Provident Films team, visited Mark at the recording studio and fills us in on the happenings.
“It was great to see the recording session live. The Nashville String Machine, which is made up of the premiere studio players in Nashville, was in full force. They are real pros and hearing them perform live was great. The session took place at Reba McEntire’s studio, Starstruck, which is a fantastic facility. And the score was beautiful. Mark and his team did an amazing job.”
Bill even took time to film some of what he experienced so that we could give you a feel for the look, feel, and—most importantly—the sound of the recording of the FIREPROOF score. We hope you enjoy!

There's no doubt that the music will be superb. Flywheel and Facing the Giants had amazing soundtracks that helped take viewers along for the ride.
That music is really great!
Excellent guys, now I know where part of that 500k budget went to :P Sounds great! Can't wait to see Fireproof in theaters, I hope it plays near me. God Bless all who worked on this film, and may God be Glorified!

Is 500k all it cost to produce? That is still an incredible budget for a film of this quality. I can't believe you did music for much less than that! :)
The score sounds exciting. It was hard to tell in this video how the levels would be...I'm sure it will be perfect in theaters. All I hope is that when it comes to DVD, the sound will be adjusted, as most consumers don't have theater quality sound, and overpowering soundtracks make it hard to hear dialogue, especially in more exciting parts of a movie...
But the DVD is a long way off...the theater launch will be exciting!
Great!!! I am sooo excited to see it! Excellent point about changing the sound for the DVD. I have seen too many movies were I can't hear what they are saying which completely ruins the effects. But I am sure that since they did an awesome job with Facing the Giants, they will do it again with Fireproof. :) I am excited to watch a good, well-made movie for Christ's glory; it is always refreshing.
Wow! I am so excited about this movie ya know. I am a huge supporter of y'all. Keep reaching out to this world with the truth of God's Word! I am working towards doing th same thing. I am going to be a Christian Film-Maker after college. I am not sure who I am going to work with yet though... still praying. God Bless You All!
Mark Willard is an inspiration to me. As an aspiring musician, I appreciate the level of professionalism as well as talent that are expressed in his compositions of the scores for both "Facing the Giants" and now, "Fireproof". And the amazing thing about both of these scores is that they were written by a man who is the minister of music at a church, not a full time composer! What a wonderful gift the Lord has given to you Mark! Keep up the good work for His Glory!
I see that the vocal music used in the movie will be available on iTunes, but will the score be made available? It is fantastic!
Is there any update as to when the score will be released?
Anyone?

And now it's coming: FIREPROOF Original Motion Picture Soundtrack will release on July 14. Featuring songs from Third Day, Casting Crowns, John Waller, Leeland, Grey Holiday, and Warren Barfield, the Soundtrack will also include 10 songs from the score by Mark Willard. A bonus track of John Waller's "While I'm Waiting/ FIREPROOF Remix" is also on the Soundtrack!
I can't wait to get one myself! Hope this helps.
