Greetings from Sunny Orlando!

The FIREPROOF blog is in beautiful central Florida ... but this is no vacation. Instead, we’re keeping an eye on the happenings at the International Christian Retail Show (ICRS) in Orlando.

Director Alex Kendrick, producer Stephen Kendrick, and executive producers Michael Catt and Jim McBride did a series of interviews with media members throughout the course of Monday.

In the evening, the Sherwood team, including Terri Catt and Kirk Cameron, enjoyed dinner at BB King’s with many of the media members at the conference. That was followed by a special screening of the film that brought together many cast and crew members, including Erin Bethea (lead actress), David Nixon (assistant director and producer), Bill Ebel (editor), and director of photography Bob Scott and his right-hand man Ben McLeod.

John Waller performed “While I’m Waiting” for the audience, who heard from many of those involved in the film. A second screening was held at 9:30 p.m. Monday ... with more screenings planned for Tuesday.

Be sure to check out the blog for more updates (and photos) from Orlando ...

My family was at the Tuesday 7pm screening. WOW! I just cannot possibly say enough and say thank you enough for this movie and its accurate portrayal of the average marriage. We have been married almost 17 years and I have to say there were moments in that movie that were scenes from our marriage throughout the years. How I wish that weren't true, but God's grace has been poured out on our family. I shudder to think of the many times I tried or wanted to walk away. Look what I would've missed!!! I love him more today than I've ever been capable of and I know that will continue. We are committed to a lifetime together, no matter what fires may come and now with the inspiration of this movie, we will be sure to never leave our partner behind, especially during a fire! THANK YOU WITH MANY TEARS!

Most movies today are simply eye candy. They are entertaining and fun, but you learn nothing from them. You leave the theater the same as you arrived. Sherwood Baptist Church has produced three movies that are all life lessons with Jesus Christ as the central character. Everyone can relate to the plots. The stories make you think about your own life. And you leave the theater a different person than you arrived. I have seen Fireproof and I can't wait to see what God has in store for the millions of people that see it. I am praying that God will heal countless marriages through this beautiful story and the "Love Dare".
