Some Quick Updates

We wanted to get you caught up on a few things as we get ready for the fifth weekend of FIREPROOF, the No. 1 Inspirational Film in America!

For the first time, FIREPROOF did not finish in the Top 10 last weekend ... it was eleventh. Because it played in only a little more than 900 theaters, FIREPROOF still easily finished in the top 10 for per-screen average. With the film still playing in 883 theaters, including 84 new ones, it is possible the movie could return to the overall Top 10 this weekend!

Including theaters that have added (and subtracted) FIREPROOF since it opened on September 26, the total number of theaters that will have had FIREPROOF playing as of this weekend is 1,101.

We told you about the opportunity you had last week to bid on a jacket that Kirk Cameron wore during a scene in FIREPROOF. It turns out that the winning bid was $2,500, with all of the proceeds going to American Family Radio. Congratulations to all involved!

And finally, this is the 100th post on this blog ... thanks for following along and thanks for all of your great comments. Most of all, thanks for all you are doing to help people fall in love with FIREPROOF!

I'm thrilled Fireproof will be playing its fifth week--still four times each day--in Lake Jackson. We're hoping to buy out a showing or two next week for firefighters and other city employees who have worked so selflessly to get our city back on its feet from Hurricane Ike.

This is such a wonderful movie. I hope there will more made like this one. It was so nice to see a movie with no swear words or sex. Keep up the good work and God will bless you. Barb in Tacoma, Wa.

I thought you might be interested in a post I just wrote comparing Fireproof's box office numbers to those of Religulous:

'Fireproof' Earns Twice As Much As 'Religulous'

Nice job.

I just got back from watching Fireproof... it was great to see such a different-flavored movie on the regular, big screen

I was so excited when I found out Fireproof was coming to New Bern, NC. My husband and I went to see the movie on Sunday afternoon. I want to thank Tabernacle Baptist for allowing us to see the movie with their Church. I enjoyed it so much that I went back on Monday afternoon to see it with my Daughter. Fireproof is a really touching film. If this movie does not touch your heart then you must be a really hard hearted person. I think Kirk Cameron was perfect for the role of Caleb since he is a professing Christian. I think it says a lot for him to want to play in Christian movies instead of some of the trash Hollywood comes up with for us to view. Christians should be more vocal and stand up for what they believe in. That is whats wrong with this world today. I highly recommend this movie to everyone. I just pray this movie touches your heart as much as it did mine. I want to thank Southgate Cinema for showing this movie in New Bern, NC.

Dawn,
Pastor Adrian Rogers used to say, "If that doesn't light your fire, your wood must be wet!"

I think this would be his comment about FIREPROOF!

I took my daughter (13yo) to see this. Actually, I took her twice, but it was sold out on Friday night! The theater was amazed when those of us who didn't get tickets were excited. \O/ \O/ \O/ We bought tickets for Saturday and saw it together then.

God is GOOD!
